Lexington Books

Founded by D. C. Heath in 1970, Lexington Books was acquired from Simon and Schuster’s Jossey Bass division in 1998. Lexington's traditional strengths include business, psychology, and organizational development. At a time when most publishers are cutting back on monograph publishing, Lexington is dramatically expanding its monograph program.

Under the leadership of editor-in-chief Serena Leigh, Lexington Books has established a large and diverse list of books written by both up-and-coming and established scholars. Since 1999, Lexington has published outstanding work in history, political theory, Japan studies, philosophy, policy studies, and many other disciplines. Prominent scholars such as Fred Dallmayr, Harvey Mansfield, Jr., Daniel Mahoney, and Edward R. Beauchamp serve as editors for Lexington Books' groundbreaking group of series--the cornerstone of Lexington's publishing program. Lexington's marketing plan is designed to give all Lexington books the greatest market penetration possible. Leigh's goal is to see Lexington become the preeminent publisher of new and innovative research in the humanities and social sciences.
